The purpose of a bladder as a body organ is the storage and release of urine. It is a hollow organ in the lower abdomen having a muscular wall that makes it larger or smaller. Urine is the residual liquid made by the kidneys when the blood is cleaned and it is stored in the bladder. The urine passes from the two kidneys into the bladder through two tubes called ureters.
